Frequently asked questions about Online counseling over Skype.

It does depend on individuals as for some people to be face to face in the same room as their counsellor is more beneficial. For others who may find it difficult to get to a counsellor or live in a country where English is not a common language and customs may vary, online counselling can be very effective. There can also be advantages if the client finds it very embarrassing to talk about their problem and therefore can talk with a large degree of anonymity. Although video link is available on Skype you can also have counselling with audio connection only
No. Whether you have video connection or just audio connection is entirely up to you and depends on what you feel comfortable with.
The length of the councilling session can vary depending on your requirements. I do have offer a free 20 minute consultation so you can try it out and see if it might be for you. Then I normally suggest that sessions be between 30 minutes and 90 minutes long and are charged in 30 minute increments.
Yes, counselling sessions are totally confidential and you can even request that no notes are kept of the counselling sessions if you wish.
No, it is impossible to get stuck under hypnosis. The very worst that can happen is you fall asleep and then wake up normally when you are ready to. Although I do build in during hypnosis an exception so should the Skype connection be broken whilst hypnotized the client will automatically come back to the normal state of consciousness.
I’m afraid this question cannot be answered as it will vary widely depending on the individual and the problem that you have. It should also be considered that solving a problem cannot be guaranteed and I believe it wrong for any therapists to even give potential clients that impression.
